Oasis Hub - Where it all began.

Oasis Hub Ltd, founded in 2015, by Tracy Irvine, Dan Gipple and Dickie Whitaker was a pioneering platform dedicated to democratizing access to environmental and catastrophe risk data. It served over 1,500 members across sectors such as insurance, finance, engineering, and development, offering a centralized repository of thousands of datasets, tools, and models related to climate change, extreme weather, and environmental risks .dClimate+1ReinsuranceNe.ws+1

In September 2022, Oasis Hub was acquired by dClimate, a decentralized climate information ecosystem. This acquisition enabled dClimate to integrate Oasis Hub's extensive data infrastructure into its blockchain-based platform, enhancing the accessibility and transparency of climate data for users worldwide .dClimate+1dClimate+1

The integration of Oasis Hub into dClimate's network marked a significant step toward creating a more resilient and informed global community, continuing Oasis Hub's legacy of fostering open access to critical environmental information.

Oasis Hub provided an extensive array of specialised models and tools, supporting robust decision-making around climate risk management and disaster resilience. The platform featured advanced probabilistic risk modelling tools, notably CLIMADA, an open-source model that assessed economic impacts of climate-related hazards such as floods, storms, and heatwaves, aiding users in understanding potential future risks and damages.

Additional tools included FloodMap Live, a real-time flood forecasting tool offering immediate insights into ongoing flood events, and SmartFLOOD, an AI-driven mapping tool that provided detailed predictions of flood hazards. Another notable resource was SaferPlaces, designed specifically for urban planners, enabling assessment and mitigation strategies for city-wide flood risks.

Beyond flood modelling, Oasis Hub offered tools addressing broader environmental threats, including earthquake and hurricane models, coastal risk analysis, and climate scenario projection models. These tools enabled users—from insurers to policymakers—to build actionable, data-driven strategies for adaptation, risk reduction, and resilience planning.

We have worked extensively with hazard risk tools and models and have an understanding of natural hazards and disasters

Oasis Hub Ltd facilitated extensive cross-sector collaborations, uniting leading research institutions, financial organizations, insurers, and major developers to drive climate resilience. Key partnerships included collaborations with renowned academic institutions such as Imperial College London, the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), and the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). These alliances fostered advanced scientific modeling and robust climate risk assessments.

Simultaneously, Oasis Hub actively engaged the financial sector, working closely with institutions like the Bank of England and major global insurance companies. Additionally, partnerships with prominent developers enabled the platform to apply its sophisticated risk modeling and data analytics directly to real-world infrastructure projects. By bridging academia, finance, insurance, and development sectors, Oasis Hub significantly enhanced informed decision-making and proactive management of climate-related risks worldwide.
